Fujiya Victoria - Sushi Team Supervisor

Fujiya Clark - Cashier
Overview: The Sushi Team Supervisor at Fujiya Victoria (Vancouver Island) will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Sushi Department and supervising a team of around 10-15 staff. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring work is completed on time, while following quality and safety standards. For those with less experience, can discuss starting as an Assistant Supervisor.
Schedule: Full-time (shift availability between 7AM - 5PM)
Pay: Starting at $20.00/hr (plus perks like free meals, employee events, and store discount)
General Duties:

Oversee and supervise kitchen staff

Delegate duties and assign tasks to team

Train and monitor progress of new employees and convey progress to the Manager

Develop and manage employee schedules

Maintain and improve team productivity and engagement

Order ingredients and/or supplies

Plan new dishes and menus
-
Organize and maintain kitchen and storage areas

Oversee and manage catering orders

Monitor quality, taste, and presentation
Skills & Qualifications:

Experience making sushi and/or professional kitchen experience preferred

Knowledge of Japanese food and recipes preferred

Foodsafe Level 1 & Occupational First Aid Level 1 (can be obtained during probation period)

Some physical lifting of maximum 30lb required
Overview: Provide exceptional service to our customers by efficiently processing transactions through the POS. Accurately process payment, bag product, and support with restocking and general customer inquiries.
Schedule: Full-time (4-5 days per week)
Pay: Starting at $17.40/hr (plus perks like free meals, employee events, and store discount)
General Duties:

Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner

Accurately and efficiently process POS transactions

Follow cashier procedures such as (but not limited to): daily opening and closing, float, employee purchases, customer orders, and coin exchange

Support with restocking

Perform inventory counts and inventory transfers

Follow proper merchandising standards

Greet customers and help with questions or requests

Follow and uphold store policies regarding returns, pricing, and promotions

Follow cleaning, receiving, and inventory policies and procedures
Skills & Qualifications:

Customer service and cash handling experience preferred

Basic computer skills

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of Japanese food and products an asset

Physical ability to do tasks (including standing/walking, lifting and carrying up to 20LB, using hands/wrists for scanning and using the POS)
Fujiya Clark - Stock Associate
Overview: Ensure that the correct goods are received, processed, stored, and stocked accurately and efficiently, according to company rules and strategies. Prepare incoming and outgoing shipments to the warehouse, stores, and customers.
Schedule: Full-time (4-5 days per week)
Pay: Starting at $17.40/hr (plus perks like free meals, employee events, and store discount)
General Duties:

Receive, inspect, and count goods against the Purchase Order. Check and inform Retail Product Leads or Managers regarding damage, expired, or missing items

Maintain correct regular and special prices on price stickers, shelf labels and signage

Perform daily restocking in an efficient manner

Follow proper merchandising standards

Perform inventory counts

Assist customers with product questions or requests

Follow proper handling and equipment safety procedures

Follow cleaning, receiving and inventory policies and procedures
